Most of the electric wheelchair users are elderly or handicapped persons with physical impairments. During use, the braking effect of the electric wheelchair is directly related to the safety of the user. Therefore, when purchasing an electric wheelchair, you must not neglect to check the braking performance of the electric wheelchair.
Of course, the braking performance test of the electric wheelchair requires professional equipment, but the braking performance test of the electric wheelchair can also be carried out in a simple way if there is no professional equipment at the time of purchase.
1. Test on flat ground
First, switch the electric wheelchair clutch to the closed state, and observe whether the electric wheelchair driving wheel rotates on a flat ground. If there is rotation, the braking performance is poor, otherwise the braking performance is good.

2. Slope performance test
Choose a 10-15 degree ramp to place the electric wheelchair on the diagonal, switch the electric wheelchair clutch to the closed state, push the electric wheelchair down and observe whether the electric wheelchair driving wheel rotates; if the driving wheel rotates, the braking performance is poor , On the contrary, the braking performance is good.
3. Weight test
Place the electric wheelchair on the above ramp, switch the electric wheelchair clutch to the closed state, place a weight of about 100 kilograms or sit on the electric wheelchair, check whether the electric wheelchair slides slowly down the slope, if there is sliding, it means that This type of electric wheelchair has poor braking performance. It is not recommended for the elderly or the disabled. There is a danger of slipping when going up and down. If the driving wheel of the electric wheelchair does not rotate or slide under load, it means that the electric wheelchair is braking. The performance is good.
4. Exercise test
Adjust the speed of the electric wheelchair to the fastest speed. Drive to the highest speed on a flat road or the above-mentioned ramp, then release the electric wheelchair control lever to check whether the electric wheelchair stops immediately. If it can stop immediately, it means that the braking performance is good. Otherwise, the electric wheelchair is made. The poor dynamic performance is not recommended for the elderly or the disabled.
